Who is involved in the cooperative?

The majority of the people involved in Ubuntu have immigrated to Canada and understand the complexity of immigration and the challenges new students and immigrants face when moving to another country. By channelling their passion and dedication into a working model the members will assist in the process of immigration so that all participants reap the rewards and feel this is a great place to live and work.

The Philosophy of each member is that through their hard work, passion and dedication they will see others improve by moving to Saskatchewan.

Who can be a member, and how do you apply?

To become a member of Ubuntu, simply get in contact with us to receive an application, which will be passed on to the board.

When did Ubuntu start?

In 2012 UCAS held a community Conference in Regina, in celebration of 20 years since this organization was established. Among the various recommendations from this conference – was the decision to form a cooperative to contribute to the on-going immigration and economic development initiative in our province. Conference participants learnt that, in 2012 immigration contributed to the population by 11,182 individuals, contributing to Saskatchewan population growth by 4.34%.

The combination of the need for skilled people in Saskatchewan and an available pool in Uganda and other African countries can contribute to the provincial economy and help position the provincial economy for the future.
